What I am wearing today (17 July 2012)

Today I am wearing a hunter-green, cotton, 2-button, notch-lapel suit; a lemon colored shirt with tabbed-collar and French cuffs; a tie with green/blue/white printed over red background; a maroon printed pocket square; a pair of plain cap-toed oxford shoes; and a 1960s vintage Roamer POPULAR, 17 Jewels, shockproof, automatic watch with a black leather strap.

The dial of the watch looks so clean because I had the dial repainted as the original dial had faded and was almost unreadable.

What I am wearing today (7 June 2012)

Today I decided to dress casual in a trousers/blazer combination. Therefore, today I am wearing a 2-button, notch-lapel blazer with patch pockets; a pink and white striped shirt with barrel cuff; a dark pink silk knit tie with small white polka dots; a lighter pink pocket square; a pair of dark brown monk-strap shoes; and finally a 1960 vintage Favre Leuba Sea Chief, manual winding watch in a brown leather strap. The watch has original dial and body. It has only been serviced.

What I am wearing today (28 May 2012)

Today I am wearing a blue, two-button, notch-lapel suit; a white/blue striped shirt with french cuffs; a maroon tie with small paisley patterns; a white pocket square; a pair of reddish brown cap-toed oxford shoes; a vintage and somewhat enigmatic Favre Leuba Seikomatic, manual winding, gold plated watch.

The enigma stems from the fact that the term “Seikomatic” is a term used by Seiko Watch Company and not by Favre Leuba. I have not been able to find any record that Seiko and Favre Leuba ever cooperated on any watch. I have also searched the Net without any success for any Favre Leuba watch with “Seikomatic.” I did occur to me that the dial could be a modification by some watch mechanic. Now that I had two identical Favre Leuba watches with “Seikomatic” inscribed on the dial, I am convinced  about the authenticity of the diall.

The movement inside the watch is the standard FL-253, as shown below:

Today I am wearing a bluish gray double-breasted, six-button, suit; a white, tabbed collar shirt with french-cuffs; a solid red silk tie; a white linen pocket square, a pair of dark brown whole-cut oxford shoes; and a vintage gold plated Rado “Double Horse” automatic, day/date watch in a leather strap.

What I am wearing today

Today I am wearing a white linen suit with black pinstripes. This is two button version with a fish-tail notch lapel. Recently I have been wearing this suit more frequently than is usual. I also love today’s shirt which is a hand loom cotton shirt in micro stripes. I am finding hand loom cottons to be particularly suitable for hot and humid weathers. You must try them to appreciate these shirts. A chose to wear a black, gray, and purple striped silk tie and a silk pocket square in black and red.

Today’s ensemble is a good example of matching various patterns. You must have noticed that everything that I am wearing today contain patterns. The suit is a stripe, the shirt is a check, the tie is again a stripe, the pocket square is a pattern is red and black. The trick in matching stripes, checks and other patterns is scale. Vary the scales so that they do not clash. Judge for yourself how effectively I have been able to mix the patterns today.

Today I am wearing a 1980 vintage Tissot Automatic with a black leather strap. I seem to have damaged the watch’s dial. I discovered this when taking a photograph of the watch today. I have been wearing this watch for the last two days.

Today’s shoes are black double-monks.

What I am wearing today (12 March 2012)

Dhaka city is particularly quiet today. Very few transports are in the city; the office attendance is also much less than normal. The reason is the oppositions “Grand Rally,” and the subsequent response of government lead by the ruling party “impenetrable Dhaka.” Therefore, I decided a leisurely attire would be appropriate.

Today I an wearing a tan 2-button linen suit, a blue/baby blue french cuff linen shirt, a maroon/black/white horizontal stripe tie, a blue patterned pocket square, and brown suede monks. Therefore, today I am wearing not only all patterns but also I have also mixed various textures.

Today I am wearing the previously described vintage 1958 Omega Automatic Calendar.
