What I am wearing today (6 October 2013)

Today I am wearing a tropical-wool bluish-gray pinstripe double-breasted (6X2) suit, a cotton lemon colored shirt with French cuffs, a mustard and brown printed silk tie, a cream linen pocket square, and a pair of brown oxford shoes. I am not wearing a watch today.

  1. I live in London and buy my shoes from Crockett and Jones, Church’s and Stemar. I worked in South Asia for a couple of years and always strived to find a high quality shoe from the region. Unfortunately I never succeeded. Have you found any over the years that you can recommend?

    1. My personal preference is Goodyear welted shoes. Most high-end British made shoes are Goodyear welted. I purchased two shoes from Seoul, South Korea and they have good quality leather as well as good construction. I have no idea about the brand name as it’s in Korean.

Turkey also makes good leather shoes and last time I was in Istanbul I purchased one. I wanted to buy more but my luggage was already overweight.

In my opinion, you can’t go wrong with C&J and Church.

      Thanks for the comment.

    1. I find Goodyear welted shoes to be more comfortable than other shoe construction methods. Maybe because of the cork padding used under the insole. Moreover, buying a well-made shoe is an investment. The fact that the sole can be replaced easily also adds value to that proposition.
